For A Wordling Whirl of Sundays: Wordle #5
http://sundaywhirl.blogspot.com/
Today’s words: waned, window, flight, surrender, beneath, yellow, gathered, angels, utter, rearranged, absolute, risk, lull.
Birth of Survivor
As yellow moon waned
outside window, she dreamed
that gathered angels took flight
beneath its filtered light, in lull
between night’s surrender
and morning’s shy beginnings.
Even in restless sleep,
she understood risk to be taken
when finally uttering absolute
truth of fragile, soon to be
rearranged existence.
Unwillingness persisted, slimming
token of resistance, even as she
woke knowing nothing would remain
after silence had been broken. Having
never known it, refused urge to pray
for mercy.

WOW! This one is simply AMAZING!!!!! I so love the gathering angels taking flight in her dream, and “morning’s shy beginnings”. Lovely. The risk of silence being broken and the knowing it must be, and the refusal to pray for a mercy she has not felt, soooooooo powerful! Elizabeth, you have outdone yourself! I love the title, which reminded me of the soul card journey! We are going deep, soul sister!
Sherry, Took some time with this one after I realized where it was going. It is a compilation of memories and stories told through the years, that reverberated with their moments of breaking silence. Moments that must be honored and retold,

this is incredibly powerful.
I was particularly touched by —
“… Having
never known it, refused urge to pray
for mercy.”
Thank you Angie, I believe it is a truth that must be repeated as often as possible,

Yes, I love it. Whatever struggles you may have had, a one time or another, it is not in the piece! Really wonderful!
Thank you Annell. There were many but this one seemed to free itself from the memories and feelings, and demand to stand alone,

Truth definitely does rearrange existance! Well written wordle, Elizabeth.
Mary, as I listed the words, they began to attach themselves one to another. Then I had to let them sit for awhile. But absolute truth was one of the first I heard. I caught some of that in your piece as well. Thank you for your continuing support,

Haunting words that have touched too many lives.
As a species, they don’t say much for our progress, growth, and change, except that too often it comes at too high a price.

…nothing would remain after silence had been broken… Elizabeth, this piece contains power. Spoken words transform worlds, and some things must be said. I love the dream of angels at the beginning. So glad you are wordling. 🙂

Thank you Brenda, I was a bit surprised at where these words took me. And I am so glad that you are creating the wordles.

Spectacular use of the wordle words. It flows so beautifully … nothing is forced. I especially loved “night’s surrender and morning’s shy beginnings.”
Thank you Marianne. Didn’t realize until afterward how well that set up the rest of the poem.

Elizabeth, such strength and fragility, that “lull” – that transitional moment. You pack so much into this one, the thought and feeling, and then that inaction at the end – very powerful.
Richard
Comes from having been there, Richard. And so long ago, that the images came with the ease of satisfied resolution. What amazes me is that it came out of that jumble of wordle words, as though it had only been waiting for its moment to arrive. Thank you Richard,

Everything starts from a tiny dream. 🙂
Thanks Jinksy. The movement from victim to survivor always begins with a small dream that centers around freedom, sometimes only the freedom to speak.
