Stray Thought 8

That what if… butterfly
flutters through the heart
moving from sweetness to sweetness,
sucking it up through her feet
so it must filter through
her entire being
before she rises again

fluttering her way into the mind,
where she explodes
into a fiercely focused hawk,
keen eyes searching,
seeking that prize
which will satisfy
her hunger.

Explosive! All that sweetness fuelling it, you’d think it would be a dove rather than a hawk! But thoughts are unpredictable things! Love this one Elizabeth…thanks for sharing!

“The senses of the butterfly are located in her feet, and she doesn’t stand still for any length of time. The heart is a fragile thing. But the mind is filled with dueling dichotomies and needs that sharp eyed focus to find a path through. The butterfly, because of her four wings, and her process of metamorphosis is a symbol of transformation, of becoming more, or other. Whereas the hawk is a spiritual messenger(symbolism) constantly moving between earth and the heavens. When the heart and mind are in concert they, together, activate the soul, that which mediates between the two. And personally, I believe we are always in search of soul. Wow, thanks for all the stray thoughts you have engendered,
