I can’t wait to see how you do that?
Would you laugh, if you knew
I nodded my head when you asked?
I couldn’t wait to see what I’d do either.
But then, took it as a dare.
You’ve been daring me
since the day we met. Asking those
hard questions.
Like: What is soul?
It took pages of time, but finally
found an answer that satisfied,
“Soul is our connection, our
constant conversation with
that which is eternal,
that which we define as Divine.”
I feel your hand on my back,
pushing me forward, always encouraging,
always curious about the next curve
in whatever road we travel.
Always challenging the me
that only I can be.

Image is two distinctly different, pen and ink line weave drawings, digitally merged. It always reminds me that what you see on the outside, might be very different from that which breathes on the inside.

I love your depth Elizabeth. I jumped here from our Journey class, which I just finished reading. Interesting. I’m writing a poem a day but not publishing them. I intend this as a more personal exercise. But today’s poem i wrote about the paths our hearts must choose, the complexity of duality. Somehow, in my mind, this connects to what you describe so beautifully as the purpose of our soul.
