Making A Poem
Little ripples in my brain,
errant breeze whispering through
lush tall grasses, or maybe furtive
four-legged, trying to go unseen.
Swiftly grab its tail, a merry chase,
as he twists and turns, nipping
at my agile fingers. But, with bit
of luck, drags me back to small
dark cave where he hides whatever
he has gathered.
Touch nothing, absorb it all with
careful eye, then slip away to my
own comfy nest, finally finding
words, with which to tell his tale.

The Poem A Day Challenge is always a journey for me. I started out, as usual, with a vague idea of a theme about where and how I find inspiration. Only to discover, a richness that delights me no end, as well as a way to honor those who spend their time making poems. Thank you for doing that..

Elizabeth how nice to be part of this beautiful poem. I can thoroughly relate to the “chase” that occurs as we try to find the right words to tell our tale.
