Inspiration

NaPoWriMo 2020: Day 18

Do you know
what it means
to be
inspired?

It’s all rather
basic, and really
quite
simple.

You can sit
or stand,
or lie down
if you prefer.

Take the time
to still yourself,
it only requires
a moment.

 Breathe in
deeply, and hold
it for a few
seconds.

Feel that fresh
breath move rapidly
down, throughout
your system.

Now exhale, slowly.
You are ready.
Begin.

Notes: Image is a pen and ink line weave doodle, put through the kaleidoscope app, then given a bit of coloring. The word “inspiration” shares the same root source as the one meaning “to breathe in”. “Creativity”, which originally meant “to breathe life into”, is a built-in element of the human psyche. It really is just that simple. It is my hope that all of this “isolation”, and “social distancing”, will allow us to breathe in and thus create a new world where we can all, more truly, live together again.

I am going to do exactly this and see what Wild Woman might have to say. Wonderful wise words, my friend.
