For The Newborn
Oh Little Miss so tiny and new. Yet, in seeming
instant, years will pass as you stride
into your future.
Perhaps we should pray that you gain the grace
to navigate your path with dignity. That whatever
visions you might hold be as bold as a hummingbird
in search of sweetest nectar. That you never buckle
from too much stress or fail to detect each important step
on your singular life’s journey. That you always know
you are loved, cherished, and needed.
Elizabeth Crawford 11/10/13
Notes: Not aimed at anyone in particular, simply where the words led me. Image is from the internet.
So beautiful emotions 🙂

“That you always know you are loved, cherished, and needed.” – if we all carried and conveyed this, it would be a most wonderful world. Thank you.

“O Little Miss so tiny and new. Yet, in seeming

Not to leave my two sons out of it – although the words in this poem are female, they still apply to the power of a mother’s love across the genders.

I loved this VERY much. Sweet, sweet, sweet. The opening voice is true.
You wrote about the beginning of a life, and I wrote about the end.
