April 1st

It’s April 1st.

And I am a fool.

Trying to write words.

Pretending I know what I’m doing.

Trying to make a poem
when I haven’t done so
in ages. Where to begin?

At the beginning.

Used to do this thing
with seeming ease.
Pleased myself
and often others.

But that was then
and this is now.
Pray for me
that I remember how.

What are these things you call – words? Yea, times change, but that’s the nature of the beast. But throw a little butter in the pan – we’ll be alright. Good to see your voice my friend. neil

Smiles. I hear you. My words have been lying fallow for too long. It is April first, and two wild women will hobble forth together and see what they can find. Our first April trip together was amazing. This one may just be – amazed. Cackle.

And good morning to you, Neil. I believe that words are the tools we (supposedly) writers are supposed to know how to use. Can you say “RUSTY”. Lol. And I’ve got a whole lot more than butter to throw in the pan. Shaved ham, fresh cheddar, and really yummy deli rolls. Anytime, you are always welcome.

Actually Sherry, the only thing here that is amazed is me! I’m not really sure I’m actually here, doing this. It feels like a really funky sort of dream. At best, at a distance. Thanks for coming and joining the party. It is a party, right? And this will be fun, right? I can always hope.

I’m sure the words will come back, Elizabeth. For me, they hide away every so often, but sooner or later, come out and sing again. 💙

Hi KT. Actually I’ve always thought the words danced, kept the rhythm, moving to the music. Never thought they might sing. Maybe because I was always the singer? But that’s something else that age has stolen, I guess. I’ll have to think about that, see if I can wrap my head around a new relationship, lol. Now that might be interesting, especially at my age. This might just turn out to be a very amazing month. Thanks for your visit.
