Card 35, Gallery 2
Remembers the marriage
built on vague hopes and dreams.
Giving birth,
first to her children
and much more slowly
herself.
Pushing against both
dark fear and pain.
Knowing only
that it was time
to bring new life
into the world.
To let it breathe
in and out,
find its own
singular path of
fast moving
moments.

It is such a responsibility entrusted upon us to see to the success of our children in life

I agree with you Hank, but would take it one step further. The pandemic and “social distancing” are giving us another opportunity to step back and away from all the busyness of our daily lives. Time alone, to breathe, to reacquaint ourselves with the most important individual we may ever know, ourselves. It isn’t easy to do, but I believe it is the task before us. If we truly want to change our world, we must begin with our own person. How do we do that if we never take the time from our busy ‘routines” and just do it?

Yes, I think it was through giving birth to those children that we slowly gave birth to ourselves. What a journey. No wonder we are tired. Smiles.
Thanks for the smile and a nodding grin of agreement. Giving birth is damned hard work and then, after catching our breath, we have to stop and realize that the real ‘work’ has only just begun. But the doing of that work only helps us to realize that we each own an Inner Child. One that perhaps has been avoided, even neglected, and maybe even lost in the process of growing up. And may very well need a helping hand, even now to continue that growth process.
