Remembering

Card 38, Gallery 1

She remembers being young
head in the air
scenting its freshness
as she walked
without fear
down the path
to Experience.

The butterfly of transformation
riding her shoulder
like a promise
bound to happen
at any given
moment.

Only to learn
that transformation
is a lifelong process
taken one small
step at a time
without promise
of ever finding
completion.

And that we two-legged
creatures, may stand upright
but can never fly
except in dreams
where possibilities are
endless and some
held just beyond
reach.

    Dreams are wonderful things…where would we humans be without them?
