Card 42, Gallery 1
The poet, Walt Whitman
tells us “to not abase,
nor be debased
by the other I am.”
That one who lives
within, who mirrors
our image, but more often than not
feels or acts just the opposite of that one
we most want or need to be.
So very small and weak
when the need to be invincible metal
to meet whatever coming moments
are hurtling toward us like an
out of control avalanche.
Or a proffered branch of calm
understanding, while a sharp sword
of violent raging steel tempts the tongue
against another.
That is the choice within the words
the poet speaks. That choice
which lives within each moment
that she breathes.

Wonderful and inspiring, Elizabeth. As always, we are in synch, with the inner and the outer. Smiles.
