One Voice

Card 39, Gallery 1

This is the song of one small
bird, finally set free after seemingly
years in captivity.

Instinctively knowing to spread
her wings, becoming one with wind
which upholds  her.

These are the words of one voice,
winging its way through the blue
of her knowing.

Feathers of truth keeping her
safe on this unknown path
she alone has chosen.

I have been spending my days on Facebook, encouraging others to find creative paths in order to get through this time of social isolation. Someone posted a choir singing “This is the sound of one voice,” and it stayed in my mind for hours. And became the inspiration
for this poem and my own journey back to my creative center.

Ah, I wrote mine before reading yours, and see we have very similar interpretations of the drawing. Which does not surprise me one bit. Smiles. I love this, Elizabeth.

What a delightful surprise to find you here on this first step of the journey. Are you actually going to do two a day? You set a really high standard. And bless you for doing so…

PS…Two old crones, together. This should be quite a trip.
