NaPoWriMo 2020: Day 8

Image from the Internet

 Trapped inside a world
unknown. That one inside
of self alone.

Undefined because
of busyness of doing,
rather than of being.

Sit still and breathe
in deeply. Feel air
filling your lungs.

Hold it there
for  a moment, or two,
now blow it out slowly, gently.

Repeat. Until
you feel that one
who is really you emerge.

Sit with her, with him,
until it is time to begin

Elizabeth Crawford

Notes: Image is from the Internet and found many years ago. Author unknown. Healing of the world around us begins, like most things, within ourselves. How better to do that than to sit alone and begin? A bit frightening? Surprise yourself…

This resonates. This morning I ventured out to get some groceries and took a fast look at the beach. Such prayers of gratitude welled up, for the beauty, and for the grerat gift that I got to come back here and have this time. Spring is putting on her best show right now, regardless of the mess we humans have made……..with us staying inside, she immediately began to heal. Hopefully we will emerge from this transformed and ready to demand changes of those doofusses in power. The first change should be to knock them off their perches and elect some visionaries. Smiles.

Meaningful words, Elizabeth! Some of us are getting the chance to reflect on and consider our lives while we’re waiting at home. It’s a real gift, if we’re lucky enough to have safe places to wait it out. I love that Mother Earth is healing. We have abused her mightily.
