NaPoWriMo 2019 – Day 3

Dawn

We four stand facing East,
breathe in deeply, arms outstretched
to receive this gift
of light, of living.

Pull it deeply within,
feel it race to fill
all those empty spaces
in need of healing.

Then gently exhale, sending
her gift outward, toward still darkened
corners of the world
which surrounds us.

Just 3 days in and our NaPo writing has made me feel more alive than I’ve felt in a very long while! At this stage in my life, after coming through a long, miserable winter, I feel a new purpose. Thank you, Ladies. I wouldn’t be here without you. Elizabeth, your poem today seems to express those feelings! It’s a gift to be here, doing this! Thank you for your beautiful words!

Thank you Marianne, and you would be right, that is just what I am feeling: renewed. And grateful to be here, with all of you…
