A Tribute
Sometimes get lost
in the words. Can waste
hours meandering
through meanings.
Smell the green
of anticipation
or feel the hardened
crust of an idea
gone stale from lack
of simply breathing.
Stepping stones
creating an ever-curving path
into tomorrow, the next day
and the one after that.
Windows in stone wall
of an unknowable future
or key to a locked door
once marked Forbidden.
A treasured gift, jewels
polished to exquisite brilliance
to be shared indiscriminately
and lacking prejudice.
Such simple things, yet they hold
within their grasp, precious secrets
of life and freedom
of living fully.

I love this idea. Yes, words are big and do a big job for us, expressing, ranting, thinking, dreaming and communicating.
