The Sunday Whirl: Wordle #309
https://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/

mean, carry, poor, trigger, born, sea,
nothing, shake, beam, post, pick, string

Sunday’s Whirligig: Wordle # 121
http://sundayswhirligig.blogspot.com/

hate, bliss, rapture, wig, lips, sandals,
loathe, dents, draw, relapse, broccoli, delight

Endless

Pick at string of memories
triggered by mean sea
of nothing and everything.

Would prefer to beam them
out into stratosphere, shake
loose of this burden I carry

but, was born tied to metal
post, sometimes called
rapid recall.

Poor excuse, when delight
and bliss suddenly transform
into hate and loathing.

Then swiftly relapse into
the blandness of broccoli
boiled to worn sandal leather.

Even a wig of natural curls
might be drawn to straightness
by these dents of curving mind tricks.

Lips would pray for a moment of blank
rapture, but at my age, that sounds
too much like death.

Elizabeth Crawford  7/23/2017

Notes: Been a while since I did both word lists. Started with one, but had to go get the other to finish my train of thought. Did use all of the words. Image is a hand drawn, pen and ink zendala with an added bit of color.

You really do the prompt words justice – it was a hard task to fit them all in but as ever you hit the jackpot!

How apt your last stanza is when every change that takes us away from our normal lives is just one more nail in the coffin! Well done too for fitting the words all in, I even struggle with twelve!

Some memories indeed are burdensome and how sad we can’t just shake them off. Love that image of the ‘metal pos’t of ‘rapid recall’. Also love the stanza Rajani mentions.

Dear Elizabeth Welcome back. You did a great job….I always like the wordles when I have nothing on my mind. The words are like a metal finder, and it can be surprising what is lurking in the mind, waiting to come out.

  11. I know how those thoughts buzz around like bees in our minds – current ones suddenly zapped with a memory of the past. I often catch myself censoring myself or someone else in past memories with “Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!” Smiles…….yes, we have to be leery of that blank rapture. Way to use two word lists, kiddo!

Maybe you didn’t mean for me to, but I laughed when I reached the end. At my age, I’m afraid I’m becoming more and more acquainted with the sounds of death, but what can I (or anyone) do but laugh?
