Dialogue on War and Peace
What is War?
Humanity marking it’s territory
like any other creature.
Drawing a line, then saying,
“You don’t look like me,
don’t think, or speak like me.
You don’t belong in my space.
If you cross this line
I have drawn,
I must destroy you.”
What is Peace?
Calmness that comes from within.
A soul seeking ultimate goal
of wholeness, to be found
in acceptance of whatever
comes.
What destroys Peace?
Fear.
Fear of what?
Of not belonging.
How does one conquer such fear?
Through acceptance. That it exists
in self, and in all others.
We all share the same fear?
Yes. Allowing it to drive us
is what causes War.

Did you leave out greed or hate? There are really many reasons for war. I hope as many for peace.
No, Annell, I don’t think I did. Greed is a need to acquire whatever is needed to make one feel safe (unafraid). The problem with greed is that it is insatiable, there is never enough to stop the fear. And hate is the fear of anything that is different from what one has defined as acceptable (not me, or like me).
Peace is acceptance that we, the entire human race, are all in this together and are systematically destroying the only home we have, that which nurtures us and keeps us alive.

Mosk, where do I find “Defending Your Life”? I looked on both of your sites, but couldn’t find it. Help! Have you ever read “The Gift of Fear” by DeBecker?

I have to smile at that very cool photo. I love the wisdom in this poem. It is hard to fathom that we know so much yet cant grasp this single simple truth.

Sadly humanity is an aberation among living creatures as it is just not satisfied with what it has because it wants more. It doesn’t just want to feed its family it wants more than anyone else so it has power over others.
