Word Gathering
Put book face down
atop another
I have yet to finish.
Pages meet, greet
one another.
Words begin to whisper
create pictures, some
hide in corners,
while others form a band,
begin to play loud music,
start dancing. At least
two stand up to give speeches:
political, environmentalist,
another calls for revolution,
while others march
in formation.
It’s all good. Words are seditious
by nature.

Notes: Today’s inspiration is the image. Pen and ink line weave drawing. It has always suggested how words have a power to create other places, things, and feelings.
Music is The Logical Song by Roger Hodgson, co-founder of Supertramp.

I absolutely love the way you end your poem! It’s true about words being seditious. Ask Federico Garcia Lorca and others who were executed for what they wrote. Long live the words that comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable!
