April is national poetry month, and is celebrated by a Poem A Day challenge to anyone who loves poetry. I am busy teaching an online class, but will attempt to offer something each day, through the month. Simple short verses, no particular form, but want to stick to the theme of inspiration, especially that of other poets, and writers. Please join me if you like, and leave your URL in the comment sections below. I will try to visit, read, and comment. The theme is simply my choice, and does not have to be yours.

primal, place, follow, rise, shame, near,
while, reach, base, eyes, garden, kiss
Primal Place
The making of poems is almost
a primal place within, where I rise
and without shame, follow the words
wherever they choose to take me.
A secret garden at the base of a mountain,
kissed by sunlight and dew, that reaches
to embrace opened eyed focus, while all
that is wild creeps from surrounding forest,
gathering near in reverent silence, to await
our mutual completion.

Footnotes: Before entering College, I spontaneously created a Personal Mythology, peopled by wild creatures like a tiger, wolf, eagle, hawk etc. They each represented some aspect of my own psyche, in an imaginary landscape I called my Secret Garden. I believe they fueled my desire to learn and eventually my love of Poetry. I also believe they add their own unique energy to whatever I create.
This piece is definitely biographical and was inspired by the wordle list. I did use all of the words.
