For Creativity Challenge Day 22: Endure

On Staying Open
Have learned
through seven decades
of existence,
that there is always
more to learn.
More to take in,
more to measure,
to examine closely.
More to see, to try,
to understand.
More to sort,
this from that.
More to choose
with care
and deliberation.
Thought old age
would allow rest,
time to settle in,
relax. A certain laxness
to all that gathering.
Find instead, that learning
has become my only
means of enduring
these ever churning tests
found in constant whirling
of everyday present moments.

I love this part, toward the end:
“learning
has become my only
means of enduring”

I resonate with these lines so much, my friend. No chance of rest and ease, with the fate of the earth in the balance………..we still have work to do. Time for the grandmothers to speak up. A wonderful poem!

Oh yes, Elizabeth… where would we be without learning?
