Silence
Can and does make
a statement. Might shout
far better than words
spoken, or written.
As a writer, my hand
slowly falls away from
my mouth, where a gasp
escapes at the thought.
Our newly elected would-be
ruler is about to take his
victory laps, perhaps dreaming
of thundering applause
and joyous shouts of adulation.
What if, instead, he was met
with a wall of humanity, all eyes
focused on him, hands clasped
one to another, and utterly
silent?

Oh my goodness, that WOULD make a statement. I LOVE that image. I imagine that is how he will be met by White House staff when he arrives. Interesting his wife will stay in New York………given the choice, I would, too, LOL.
