Sometimes A Girl’s Just Gotta Have Fun

When asked why, she told me
in confidence, that someone
dared her to fly up and over
a rainbow. Then plummet back
down like a huge round lemon,
to burst in dark warm soil
and bloom as a hillside filled
with daffodils.

She smiled sweetly and whispered,
“It was such fun, except for
the squeezing and now
those awful wanted posters.”

Stormy Weather

Notes: First image is a digital painting I sent to friend to show her that I’d finally managed to figure out how to do a rainbow. Then told her that I now had to figure out how to do a lightning strike. She sent it back with the lightning, but her explanation was beyond me.

That is VERY cool imagery, and fun to read.

I love the idea of bursting into a field of daffodils. We don’t really have the same spring flowers in Texas as I grew up with in the Midwest. Daffodils, Tulips, Crocuses, Hyacinth….I miss them all.
