perception, years, door, dream,
leave, remain, ghost, never, find, whisper
On Finding That Dream
Might take years to find
that dream one can wrap
both head and heart around.
Ghosts of old perceptions remain,
continue to whisper their chants
of woulds and shoulds,
can’ts and don’ts.
If one leans in to truly listen,
will hear much softer voice of soul
as it sings, behind all that other
chatter:
There’s the door
to your dream,
leave,
and never look back.

Both head and heart… sometimes I think they are one and the same. I love the woulds and shoulds stanza….can relate to it almost too well. Thank you for your writing presence in my life, Elizabeth.
