For The Newborn

Oh Little Miss so tiny and new.  Yet, in seeming
instant, years will pass as you stride
into your future.

Perhaps we should pray that you gain the grace
to navigate your path with dignity. That whatever
visions you might hold be as bold as a hummingbird
in search of sweetest nectar. That you never buckle
from too much stress or fail to detect each important step
on your singular life’s journey.  That you always know
you are loved, cherished, and needed.

Elizabeth Crawford  11/10/13

Notes: Not aimed at anyone in particular, simply where the words led me. Image is from the internet.
