For The Sunday Whirl poetry prompt: Wordle #117

An Observation
Conscious awareness quickly raises high wall
when false note is detected in everyday conversation,
even between best friends.
Questioning conscience might hope it was all a mistake,
some off element in the air perhaps
that prevented clear and proper translation.
Best if addressed immediately lest friendship
sicken and two who were firmly together
go separate ways, both sick at heart,
neither knowing peaceful rest, again.

This rather makes my heart ache from all the lost friends that fallen by the side as we moved around the world. I always say I have a handful of friends that never leave me, no matter where I go. Those are the ones that require constant tending and affection. A beautifully written piece, Elizabeth.

Honesty in a friendship is so important. Good to clear things up quickly if there is something one thinks is awry! Hope you are having a pleasant summer, Elizabeth!!

This is a strong cautionary piece, Elizabeth. Deception is trickery. We should live true.

I like your picture! So sad when this happens since all it would take is a few words to clear the air.

So true- however could a false note be the truth and the other person just needs to accept it. Just a thought.

‘some off element in the air perhaps’
When we cannot determine what went wrong, we would like to think we can pass blame. And yet in our hearts we know there was a mis-step that has possibly ended the dance.
I like this piece.
Thanks for your visit. I hope you are enjoying your summer!
