Lost
Muddled thoughts have left
muddied mess of tracks
on floor of cerebellum.
Complex answers remain
in class of their own, crawling
through rich dark loam of back forty,
while a familiar forest of questions
is shrouded in gaseous mist
thicker than fog.
Pale trembling hand reaches
for guidance at edge of utter
confusion,
still hoping to grasp concrete
resolution somewhere on this spiral path
between truth and lie.

Loved “Pale trembling hand reaches for guidance at edge of utter confusion” – largely summed up my weekend.

This is well said for ‘Lost’!! Sometimes things are so hard to understand and it is like trying to find a way in the dark!! May the complex answers be revealed and precipitate onto that muddy track!!

Unmuddled words to express muddled thoughts. I like it. Great depth, too.

As long as those hands are still
“still hoping to grasp concrete
resolution” there is still a chance to find those answers!

Still hoping to grasp……………………..truth and lie. So meaningful and intense. At times we do not find concrete answers after deep introspection . Good poem

This is amazing. We all have to feel lost sometimes to be found. This is truly breathtaking. My favorite part was the last stanza.

between truth and lie the slope is slippery for sure

Complex answers remain…
isn’t it true. even when the answers come, they often need answers of their own.

I don’t think we need at answer every question. Where is the profit in that if the mystery of life is revealed?

I can definitely identify with looking for guidance at the edge of utter confusion. (Ha, some days are like that.) And as for truths and lies, sometimes the veil between them is very thin!

This is almost too familiar, Elizabeth. That “familiar forest of questions …shrouded in gaseous mist…” is a lovely image. Your language use is precise and adds rhythm. Love that this speaks to me, though it speaks to some inner discomfort, making it peek up and ask for attention. It can wait. I’ll be back to read again and consider what it is trying to tell me. Well done, my friend. Bookmarking now.

Some great visuals in this, Elizabeth. Very deep thought put into this wonderful write, my friend. I am only getting round to read the whirl poems now. Yesterday was a busy day for me. Sundays are supposed to be relaxing.
