For The Sunday Whirl: Wordle # 106

Pushed Beyond Limits
Transparent grubs of memory
marched across mind in blind
oath not to be forgotten.
What she saw in list was harrowing,
narrowing choices to thin gruel
disconnected from marrow of reality.
Best guess was either to borrow other words,
or forever become known as rare specimen
of extreme incompetent foolishness.
Elizabeth Crawford 4/27/13
Notes: Think yours truly has pushed herself beyond her limits. Not sure this is a poem, but used all the words, and for today, that is better than good enough.
So glad you played with the sounds in harrowing and marrow… And I love the transparent grubs of memory, Elizabeth. Kudos. Hardly incompetent, you pushed the words into place quite well, the stubborn little buggers.

I like where you went with the words. Challenging and well done!

You are a rare specimen of competence and artistry. But too modest!

I understand that harrowing feeling too, but you did it!

Seems everyone was pushed by this one I copped out and wrote about Love. Good job!

Grubs of memory don’t always fall pretty on the page..doesn’t make them less poetic..perhaps quite the opposite..

You managed “grubs”, Elizabeth. This poem sings in the most coherent way. Well done. I however do sympathize with you this month seems like a blur to me.

Those grubs found a nice tight place in your poem. It is always a bit unsettling to write from that uncomfortable place. This is magnificent. Thanks for stopping by my place- I still need to “march into my buried heart.” Maybe next week. xo teri

I think you did quite well. This reminds me of someone surviving. Could be from any war torn area from the past, even from the current days headlines. When we run out of our own hope, borrowing from others is not a crime. Expanding limits, opening the doors that we would rather keep closed…requires creativity and bravery.
I’m just now catching up from visits from days ago…and may be delayed further still – but I’ll get caught up eventually. Thanks for your visits and sharing your poetry all month.
