For Miz Quickly’s Impromptu Poetry Day 17: Found Object
Have you ever found piece of poem
in bottom of pocket or purse, simple verse
jotted down on now scrunched up scrap
of paper borrowed from neighbor,
’cause you didn’t want to lose that bluesy
line floating through wandering mind, then dropped
it back into darkened abyss, and just forgot it?
Sometimes, best means of keeping thing
safe is to forget you ever owned it. Might
need ‘lost’ time in order to find narrow path
that will bring it to proper completion.

Notes: Struggled with this prompt, couldn’t settle on one object. Tried several but they wouldn’t cooperate. Then heard these words begin to whisper and followed them. When I came to my site, to begin this post, found a spam letter in that folder attached to a post I did several months ago. When I read the poem to which the spam was attached, I started laughing. Talk about a found object. The poem, if you are interested, may be found here: https://soulsmusic.wordpress.com/2013/02/17/finding-home-2/
