And if the many sayings of the wise
Teach of submission I will not submit
But with a spirit all unreconsiled
Flash an unquenched defiance to the stars. __Adelaide Crapsey, Saranac Lake, 1913

Geode Soul – A Rictameter
Geode Soul
Earthlike
Stone hard outside
Crystal facets within
Cracked by life experience
Hidden radiance forever exposed
Bursts in reflected shafts of light
Defiant hues express
Soul at center
Earthlike

My deepest apologies. Found the form a few days ago, copied and pasted the form, but forgot to cite blog where I found it. After two hours of looking back, I haven’t been able to relocate it. Really sorry.
The word geode comes from the Greek meaning earthlike
In ancient writings, such as Scriptures, we are told that both heart and mind are often the substance of stone, until softened by spirit/soul which allows true light and life to flow.

I agree with Stan! Self portrait / soul portrait indeed! I continue to be amazed at what you do with each soul card.

My friend is a collector of geodes. Lovely things. And this poem: lovely, too.
I only own one and it was a gift from someone who knew my fascination. Thank you Ron, glad you liked it,

Beautiful piece, Elizabeth. I love a good form, and will give this one a whirl later! Nicely put together. Geodes are gorgeous inside. Jennifer Donnelly’s A Northern Light is a great story. I read it last year, shared it with my daughter, and we both loved it.
Check out the new wordle prompt page…your sevenling brought words to the wordle!

Thank you Pamela, it was a bit confusing this first time, but then, most everything is until we get the hang of it,

Just beautiful….”earthlike” and “reflected shafts of light”. And your notes at the end add even deeper meaning. Love it.
Sherry, this is certainly turning out to be an amazing journey. Thank you for your continued companionship along the way. I love what you did with this image. Beautiful, my friend,

This is another form with which I am not familiar, but you have used it to create something truly beautiful. Excellent work! (..and I may have to give this form a try.) 🙂
Gloria, this is my first attempt at it, and like everything tried the first time, it was a bit confusing and then all fell in place. Glad you liked it,

This form works well. The first earthlike is “stone hard” but at the end it’s “soul at center”. I like the imagery and the change that happens.
Mr. Walker, I was a bit surprised at how it all came together. Thank you for your generous words,

I’ll start here…Another form to add to my growing collection. Thank you.
We actually have (I guess) half of a geode. And it is quite interesting that if you don’t know what you are looking for – the beauty inside that would be missed. Too bad though that you have to break it open to see it.
