The word geode comes from the Greek meaning earthlike
In ancient writings, such as Scriptures, we are told that both heart and mind are often the substance of stone, until softened by spirit/soul which allows true light and life to flow.

Beautiful piece, Elizabeth. I love a good form, and will give this one a whirl later! Nicely put together. Geodes are gorgeous inside. Jennifer Donnelly’s A Northern Light is a great story. I read it last year, shared it with my daughter, and we both loved it.

This form works well. The first earthlike is “stone hard” but at the end it’s “soul at center”. I like the imagery and the change that happens.

We actually have (I guess) half of a geode. And it is quite interesting that if you don’t know what you are looking for – the beauty inside that would be missed. Too bad though that you have to break it open to see it.
