PAD Challenge #7 for Poetic Asides
For today’s prompt, write a Pro-something poem. Your poem could be pro-candy, pro-writing, pro-peace, love and happiness, or whatever else it is that you support.
A Doubled Tetractys
Life
is not
long enough
for all those things
we only dream of being, or doing.
Must be lived in this one given moment.
Breathed deeply
into self,
giving
Life.
Elizabeth Crawford 11/7/10
Each word so true, almost seems like a march. Nice organization of words. I like the “breathed deeply, into self, giving life. And that is what we do. Perhaps it is all breath. It is what holds us together, we share, can’t live without it.
Annell, it is a syllabic form of poetry, done by counting syllables. I was hard put to come up with something for this prompt. Too many things to choose from. So, just picked life and breathing, staying in the moment as much as possible. Thank you,
Elizabeth

So very true that life is not long enough for all we dream to do. It is good though that we always keep dreams, as when we dream we plan and planning gives us purpose. Beautifully expressed sentiment, Elizabeth!
Thank you Mary. Have been busy with other things today. Haven’t really taken a look at anyone else’s stuff. Will probably do that tomorrow as it’s getting late and I am tired. I didn’t mean to say that dreams are not important, most often the breathing in deeply will bring dream inspiration. Something to offer, to give,

Ah, yes – breathe, Elizabeth, and me too!
Diane, I think sometimes we forget to do just that. Sit back and just breathe. I love that Anna Nalick song, “2 Am” or “Just Breathe”. I often sing it to myself to make myself remember. Thanks for visiting,

Oh yes, I am pro-breathing. Without it we would not be here to read your lovely poems!
Thanks Viv, and I wouldn’t be here to write them. I like this poem. It says exactly what I wanted it to say. That doesn’t happen too often, and I’m sure you know what I mean. Took the day off today. Needed the break,

Elizabeth,
Yes, pro-breathing is essential and I agree with Viv!
Love your writing.
Pamela
Pamela, your writing isn’t exactly shabby, my friend. I like the way you lay down words, always find something unusual in your poems, a different way of seeing and saying things. Thanks for your kind words,
Elizabeth
