Happy Birthday To Me

A very good friend sent me the link to this video almost two years ago. We had been friends for years, then lost contact for more. She knew I loved this song, but the video meant even more to me. To celebrate my Bday, I’d like to share it with you. If you’ve seen it before, it’s always worth another look.

Have a wonderful day, I’m planning on doing just that. To enlarge the clip, click on the four  arrows, in the right corner,  just below the video.

    Thanks Susan,

its been a good day, a fantastic week. One of those Bdays you don’t forget. Probably gained several pounds and the Amaretto was fantastic, lol.

Happy belated birthday, dear. So glad to hear it was an unforgettable one. 🙂 And thank you for sharing the link to the video. That song by Whitney Houston is one of my favorites, too (thankfully, it is within my range — first soprano — so I can pull off a decent rendition of it, heehee). By the way, I was so moved by the story of friendship between Christian and the two boys (sniff); that got me teary-eyed.

    Hi S.L.,

been a while, but keep checking back on your site to read, get my mind refreshed and of course, seek a bit of inspiration. The video has layers of meaning for me. I’ve always been fascinated by the Big Cats and they played a huge role in my search for my own person. The song did as well. I can’t sing it properly because I’ve always been an alto, and those really high notes feel like they are stripping away any voice I might have, lol. That does not, however, mean I don’t try in my own fashion.

And because of all of the layers of meaning, including the individual who sent it to me, I tear up every time I watch it, no matter the multitude of times I have done so. It speaks to me of dreams, of stepping out and choosing to act on ones own truths, no matter what the rest of the world might think or say. And perhaps, most important, it speaks to me of hope, hope for our species, as well as the world which we inhabit.

Thanks so much for stopping and for the birthday wishes.

    Elizabeth
