Flowering Dilemma

Flowering Dilemma

Can you hear
her heartbeat,
hidden there
deep in shadows
at center of hanging
petals? Unaware
of her own beauty,
color which springs
from her surroundings,
separates her
from all others
and begs
to be picked.

Heavy morning dew
doesn’t droop her,
only enhances
that attractiveness.
Causing fingers to itch
to possess, to pluck,
tuck it away
in glass vase,
transparent crystal cage
that can only diminish,
divert original purpose
while hastening death
to whatever short life
was intended.

That is lovely… and it makes me think how a camera can be used to pick flowers virtually, and they stay fresh. 🙂

    Hi Diddums,

I agree and that is perhaps why the images seem to speak more clearly to me. Am glad you like it, and I love the image. Thanks so much for sharing,
